A CASE OF DISTRESS
TO THE IMTOri or 7HM PEES?. Sir, There has come to our notice a case of distress that has caused us a great deal of concern. We have visited the family, and found the husband a confirmed invalid with a wife and two children dependent. Unfortunately the home is likely to be sold unless we can find a sum of £.25 to pay off a debt on the furniture and effect's. This is an exceptionally deserving case, and we would be glad to receive donations in cash to meet the demand made. We feel that this is a case where "Many can help one. etc.," and so make an urgent appeal to your readers to come to our assistance in this matter. It is necessary that contributions should come to hand immediately, as W2 have succeeded in staying the warrant till Tuesday next only. It would be more unfortunate if this furniture should be taken, as the man is really ill, and should not be deprived of these necessary articles. Donations can be sent to Major Dry at the Salvation Army Home, 62 Poulsen street, or 233 a Manchester street. —Yours, etc.. C. F. C. DRY. Major. J. F. EAMES, Assistant Town Clerk. February 8, 1934.
