JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS FINALS REACHED The junior croquet tournament of Canterbury, which is being held at the United Club's green, has now reached the final stages, and this afternoon the president, Mr £. J. Ross, will present the prizes. The final of the A championship, between Mrs Collins (Edgeware) and Mrs Cowlin (Opawa), and the final of the B championship, between Mrs Harris (Waimate) and Mrs Hunter (Cashmere), will both start at 11 a.m. The finals of the handicap doubles and the handicap singles, between Mrs Cooke (Barrington) and airs Owen (Opawa), will start at 1 p.m. Yesterday's results were:— A CHAMPIONSHIP Third round: Mrs Jones beat Mrs McClelland, 26-19. Fourth round: Mrs Cowlin beat Mrs Jones, 26-13. Semi-final: Mrs Cowlin beat Mrs Were, 20-18: Mrs Collins beat Miss Iveetley, 26-16. B CHAMPIONSHIP Semi-final: Mrs Harris beat Mrs Syme, 26-18; Mrs Hunter beat Mrs 1 Hamilton, 26-8. HANDICAP SINGLES Fourth round: Mrs Cooke beat Mrs Le Grange, 26-14; Mrs Bull beat Mrs Evans, 26-13; Mrs Batie ' beat Mrs Hunter, 26-17; Mrs Owen beat Miss McMillan, 26-11. Semi-final: Mrs Owen beat Mrs Batie, 26-15; Mrs Cooke beat Mrs Bull. 26-19. The white butterfly parasites, Apantales glomeratis, liberated in the Gisborne district, have established themselves on the Whatatutu, Puha, Otoko, Matawai, and Wae-renga-o-kuri farms to which they were dispatched, and are reported to be doing good work, in attacking the butterfly caterpillar. The conditions during the first week of their liberation were ideal, but although the last week's weather was not of the best, the parasites continued tD make good progress.
