GIRLS' ASSOCIATION [ NEW ZEALAND CONTROL DISCUSSED The formation of a New Zealand Ladies' Cricket Association was discussed at an executive meeting of the Canterbury Girls' Cricket Association Inst evening. Twelve delegates weie present, with Miss A. Scott in the chair. The secretary, Miss E. L. Harris, reported that letters had been written to the provincial associations regarding the proposal and that so far all replies had been favourable. The raising of funds for sending the representative twin to the forthcoming Wanganui tournament was ,.°'®" cussed. There was still about half the required amount to be collected, and a number of proposals were put forward for raising the money. It was finally decided to hold card evenings and next week to run a cake and produce stall. Miss J. Gray suggested that assistance be sought from the men's association.

A letter was received from the Wanganui Ladies' Cricket Association, stating that, on account of the heavy travelling expenses incurred by the Canterbury team, 00 per cent, of any profits would be allowed to the Canterbury Association. The letter also stated that a five-ounce ball would be used in the tournament. Miss Scott was appoined manageress of the representative team, which will leave for Wanganui on February 19. Protests by Technical and Sacred Heart junior teams against Ballantynes were dealt with by the meeting. The protests stated that Ballanfynes had included in their team B. Leonard, a High School senior player, but as the result of the competition was not affected it was decided to take no action.
