FISHING IN THE ASHLEY

TO TBI IDITOB OF TUB P«»33. Sir, —A report in your paper stated that very few fish were being caught in the Ashley. A local resident, fishing at night with "bully" for bait, has caught up to 30 fish in the last few weeks, the weights ranging from one to 71b. Last night he brought home six, ranging up to sJlb. On arriving at the river he met one or two anglers who told him there were few or no fish in the river. He (stop me if you've heard this one) hooked one which he estimated weighed 9 to 101b, and which, after two lightning runs, became unhooked. Well, I suppose its all in the knowing how. —Yours, etc., WOODEND. February 5. 1D34.
