WEST COAST NOTES
TUNNEL FREIGHT (SPECIAL TO THE PRESS.) GREYMOUTH, December 28. During last week, freight railed through the Otira Tunnel amounted to 9519 tons, an increase over the totals of the corresponding weeks in the two preceding years, which were 8900 and 6517 tons respectively.
Motoring Accident
A fractured leg was sustained by Mrs Frank Bade, of Hokitika, in a motoring accident in Chapel street, Greymouth, yesterday afternoon. The driver of the car, Mr F. Bade, was, at the time of the accident, backing the car, which was in a ditch, and the injured woman was not seen by the driver. She was admitted to a nursing home.
