Early liberation is expected of white butterfly parasites in the Gisborne district. Areas have been selected, and the release of the parasites will be undertaken as soon as the crops have reached a suitable stage. Whatatutu, Puha, Otoko, and Matawai districts are to participate in the liberations. In making this announcement, the instructor •in agriculture at Gisborne (Mr M. A. Black) stated that no finality had been reached about the date the parasites would be forwarded, but he expected that the most desirable time would be soon. He added that little benefit could be hoped for this season, but the operations should lay the foundations for future results.
