Bear of Oakland, pushed her way into the waters of the southern hemisphere for the first time for half a century on Saturday afternoon. Father Neptune made his traditional visit. The ship is now headed for Papeete, Tahiti, where she will coal. She is expected to arrive there about December 13, thence proceed to Vcllington, where we hope to aiive in time to usher in 1904.
