Auckland—There was a continuation of the light north-east wind and very hot weather yesterday. The barometer fell slightly. Wellington—Wellington's weather yesterday was warm and fair, with considerable cloudiness at times. The maximum temperature was 67.6 degrees. Dunedin—Variable weather was experienced in Dunedin yesterday. Heavy rain fell in the morning, but the afternoon was fine, with periods of sunshine. A moderate southerly breeze was blowing. The barometer was fairly steady all day at 30.10 in. FORECAST (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation—A depression with a slight cyclonic centre in the northern portion is passing New Zealand to-day, and an anti-cyclone is advancing from the Tasman Sea. Winds—North-east to north at first ttver most of the North Island, but southerlies becoming general by morniig; force moderate to strong.
