THE ANZAC FESTIVAL COMPETITION

! The Anzac Festival Committee, which was set up in Sydney to encourage a greater use of the arts in the celebrations of the Anzac season; has awarded the prize of £5 for the recent competition for a poem for an Anzac Day anthem to "The Rising Sun," by Mr W. L. Williams, of Ararat, Victoria. "The Spirit of Anzac," by Miss Dymphna Cusack, has received honourable mention. The committee had announced its programme of competition for the Anzac Day season, 1934. The first is a musical .setting of the poem, "The Rising Sun " by Mr Williams. The second is a little Pilgrim Theatre play embodying the spirit of Anzac Day, suitable for performance on a caravan with a properly fitted stage and curtain. The play should last about 20 minutes. The third competition 3s a design for a coloured poster 11 inches by 15 inches, to advertise the annual Anzac eve festival performance.
