Owing to the proximity of several schools, Cranmer square is one of the most popular playgrounds m the city, and football and cricket are played on it in their respective seasons. Sometimes it is used as a training ground for school sports. Yesterday it was put to a new use, that of exercising a Shetland pony. The pupils attending the Normal School found much to interest them in the pony's evolutions, and later in the evening youthful cricketers showed equal interest
