SPORTS FIXTURES FOR TO-DAY

CRICKET, TENNIS, AND BOWLS YACHTING AT LYTTELTON The cricket, tennis, and bowling competitions are tne chief summer sports fixtures for to-day. All the regular competitions will be continued and there will also be yachting races on Lyttelton harbour. Matches in me -mird round of the Canterbury Cricket Association's senior competition will be played as follows: —West Christchurch v. Old Boys, Hagley Park No. 1; Lancaster Park v. Old Collegians, Lancaster Park oval; St. Albans v. Riccarton, Hagley Park No. 2; East Christchurch v. Sydenham, Sydenham Park No. 1. The draw for the third round matches in the Suburban Cricket Association's first grade competition i« as follows: —Mairehau v. Working Men's Club, at Elmwood; Beckenham v. Railway, at Sydenham No. 9; Sunnyside v. Shirley, at Sunnyside. Lawn Tennis. The A grade draw for the second round of taction 2 of the inter-club lawn tennis competition this afternoon is as follows: — North Linwood v. Hornby, Wilding Park grass Nos. 17 and 18; Linwood 2 v. Elmwood 2, Wilding Park grass Nos. 19 and 20; Shirley 1 v. Addington 2, Wilding Park grass Nos. 21 and 22; Beckenham v. South Christchurch, Wilding Park grass Nos. 9 and 10; Shirley 2 v. Redcliffs, Wilding Park grass Nos. 11 and 12; St. Mary's v. Woolston 2, Wilding Park grass Nos. 13 and 14; Waimairi 2 v. Cathedral 2, Wilding Park grass Nos. 15 and 16. Bowls. The Canterbury Bowling Centre's pennant competition will be continued this afternoon. There will be matches on all greens, play beginning at 2.15. i Swimming. The Beckenham swimming bath will be opened this afternoon. The ppening function will begin at 2.30. Yachting. The Canterbury Yacht and Motor* boat Club will hold three sailing race* on Lyttelton Harbour this afternoon. There will be an open class, a 14-footef class, and 12ft 6in class. The first race will begin at 2.30.
