PERSONAL Mr and Mrs .J. Garrard, West Lytteiton, who have been spending a two months' holiday in Sydney, returned yesterday. Bowls The Lytteiton Bowling Club's green was available for play last evening, for the first time this season. Several doubles games wer~ played. Lodge Meeting. At the fortnightly meeting of Court Queen of the Isles, Foresters' Lodge, Sister J. Perry, P.C.R., presided. The .sick report was received and sick pay was passed for payment. One new member was initiated into the court and order. It was decided to meet fortnightly for the remainder of the year. Dance Recital. Many beautiful costumes will be worn in the dance recital to be given by the pupils of Miss Doris Swaby, in tlie Harbour Light Theatre, on Tuesday night, in aid of the funds of the Lytteiton Relief Committee. In the opening number. Miss Swaby's frock will be a full length ankle skirt of blue frills, with bodice of turquoise- blue sequins. With her will be a ballet costumed in blue flounces, with bodices of gold tissue. In a later number Miss Swaby will wear an Eastern dress of nile green georgette and gold tissue. In a "staircase dance Phyllis Carter will wear a smartly cut frock of primrose satin with diamante trimming. Olga Sergison will wear a satin suit with black trousers and green Russian blouse with full sleeves. Lylla Willman, in a tapdance with Leslie Sales, will wear a smart military costume of pillar-box red and grey, with cape. A ballet of French maids will be costumed in short cherry-red satin dresses with white aprons, and Dolly Vardcn hats of red and white, two bell-boys being in smart red suits with gold braid. Joan Gosney, in a tapdance with L. Dromgoole and A. Olsen will wear black velvet shorts and full-sleeved blouse of white crepe de chine. Valmai Anderson will give: an acrobatic dance clad in ruby-red tights with hip frills, and cap to match. Violet Gardiner will wear a short dress of white satin, lined with shell pink and edged with white fur. In a Russian dance. Gladys Thompson will wear a frock of raspberry-red satin, edged with white fur. and headdress encrusted with pearls. Pioval blue satin, with silver trimming will give an Eastern impression in Margaret Hanna's dance. Helen Forman will wear shorts of wine satin, primrose satin blouse, with strin.ed sash, and a large black hat. Little Helen Miller will wear an apricot satin picture frock, with blue poke-bonnet. Dances. The Rangitiki Social Club will hold a dance in the Excelsior Hall tomorrow evening. The Mount Herbert Sports Club will hold a dance in Allandalc hall on Saturday. Variety Stall. A jumble and variety stall, together with a copper trail will be held at the Harbour Board's corner to-day. commencing at 10 a.m. The proceeds are in aid of the Methodist Queen Carnival.
