TENNIS CLUB (special to tee press.) GREYMOUTH, October 26. At the annual meeting of the Greymouth Tennis Club the following officers were elected:—President, Mr F. A. Kitchingham; secretary, Mr E. May ell; treasurer, Mr H. Dodson; auditor, Mr H. Herring; general committee, Messrs A. K. and M. C. Smith, Curran, and Rollinson; women's committee, Mesdames. Moss, McGlashan, and Kitchingham, and Misses N. Ten"eilt a nd N. Hopkins; delegates to New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs; G. Pratt and E. Mayell. The chairman (Mr F. A. KitehingV,??/ mentioned that the golden jubilee of the club would be celebrated during the coming season. Music Examinations. canc iidates examined in Greymouth by Mr Frederick Moore, of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools i Music, London, all were successful. Outbreak of l ire. An outbreak of fire in a bungalow occupied by Mr R. M. Muir, Palmerston street, Greymouth, was supi pressed quickly on Wednesday even- ; mg. The fire was caused by neglect to switch off an electric iron, and the j blaze was quelled before the fire brij gaele arrived. Little damage was done.

| ■ I'ERSONAL (Sl'EClii TO ItLH I'EESS.) REEFTON, October 26. Messrs Nees, Henderson, Halliday, Bouron, Wheeler, Metson, and Miles, who are interested in local mining ventures, arc at present in Reefton. Miss A. Patterson has returned from a holiday in Blenheim. Mrs R. Ashley, who lias been visiting her parents, Mr arid Mrs Mitchell, has returned to Blenheim. Bowling Club. At the opening of the Reefton Bowling Club, there was a large attendance. The president (Mr T. Russell), in declaring the season open, congratulated the ground committee and the caretaker on the line state of the greens. A match was played between rinks selected by the president an-i the vicepresident, resulting in a win for the vice-president's rinks by a comfortable margin. Golf. The men's championship of 36 holes, conducted by the Reefton Golf Club, was concluded this week. A large gallery of spectators followed the finalists. A. McKenzie defeated V/. Blom, 3 up and 2.
