WOMEN'S TOURNEY SWISSES KAY AND GAISFORD IN THE FINAL (rasas ianocuwoit tsi.eokam) WANGANUI, October 18. Except for a strong wind at the more exposed positions, conditions were ideal for the semi-finals of the Dominion women's golf championship. Both games, however, proved onesided, and, strange to say, both were won at the twelfth hole. Miss B. Gaisford's experience told uie tale in her match with Miss Curne, the Belmont champion, and she won 7 and 6 after being 6 up at the turn. Miss O. Kay showed a return to her best form in her match with Mrs Stout. She was two over bogey on the outward journey, but, when trie game ended at the twelfth, she was | equal to bogey. On returning to the club-house Miss Barns-Graham was accorded a heauy ovation by the competitors and spectators. Miss Barns-Graham won the Rattray Cup, being 3 up on bogey on the aggregate, while Mrs J. M. Wilson (Auckland) was the I'unneiup, being all square. Next on the list were Miss Rathbone (Auckland) and Miss Holmes (Christchurch), both 1 InThe bogey handicap Miss Grace and Miss Barns-Graham finished level, 4no Miss Grace winning on trie count back. In the second division Miss E. Fleetwood was all square, ana won the trophy. KAKAIA CLUB The final of the mens' championship resulted in a win for P. J. Hanrahan, who defeated C. C. Holmes, a up and A one-club match resulted in a tie between 11. A. Harrison and 1. A. Richards, but on a count back, Harrison won. Saturday, Octobef 21, will be an open day. Closing day will be held on Saturday October 28, when the men will play the women.
