MUSIC RECITAL
' MRS DAI/TON'S PUI'ILS Puoils from the studio of Mrs Florence A. Dalton gave a successful recital in the Jellicoe Hall last evening before a very large and enthusiastic audience. Pupils in all stages of pianistic proficiency presented a great variety of pieces, and the high standard of the work clearly demonstrated the careful training the pupils had received. Specially pleasing was a violin item by two tiny mites, playing first and second violin parts in "The Ash Grove." Those taking part were:—Violin duct, Vera Hadfield and Ray Lingard, "Ash Grove;" pianoforte solos, Nola Soman, "Belgian Love Song;" Phillis Rae, "Schubert's Scherzo B Flat"; Winton Lee, "Runaway Horses;" Ngaire Harris, "Finale, Sonatina in C;" Eileen O'rCeefe, "Sonata No. 7" (Beethoven); Winifred Throp, "Allegro Scherando;" Nan Black well, "Allegro" (Mozart); Betty Moorficld, "Rustle o£ Spring" (Binding;; Wini Off wood, "Garden of Dreams;" Molly Kitehing, "Vivacita;" Eileen O'Keefe, "April" (Lohr); Allan Cossar, "Shady Dell;" Margaret Brown, "Twilight in Eltham Valley;" Joyce Lester, "Vivace;" (Mowskowski); Joyce Throp, "Sparkling Sunbeams;" Melva Edwards, "The Spring;" Rosie Armstrong, "Study in G;" Annora Wright, "Prelude in A Minor;" Myra Makin, "Andante;" Cyril Stanton, "The Marionettes;" character dances, Lenore Upton; recitations, Lola Jefferies; and songs, Mr Ronald Foster. Miss Herbert's concert party gave two choruses, "Wedding in Fairyland," and "Colleens in Killarney," with actions in costume. Other items were—Duet, Joan Carpenter and Nola Terrill, "Dresden China;" song, Nola Sutcliffe, "The Market;" duct, Pat Tallart and Betty Faulder, "Picaninies;" song, Reg McCann; recitation, Iris Nunan, "Unfortunate Bessie."
