RUMOUR OF TROUBLE IN NAVY
—o - URKWS INDIGNANT AT SUGGESTION ' LONDON, October 11. ; The Invergordon correspondent oC j the "Daily Mail" says the rumour I current in London and Portsmouth suggesting that trouble had occurred in H.M.S. Hood caused the greatest indignation in naval and civilian circles. Exhaustive enquires on the battleships and ashore reveal that j the only possible origin of the ab- j surd rumour is the regret expressed by the lower deck rating in the 1-ioocl and Nelson at the curtailment i of their shore leave for a dance at Invergordon, due to an outbreak ot! scarlet fever. When the reason was explained the discontent vanisned. The crews are indignant at the sinister interpretation placed upon! the trivial affair. j
