RECORD PARACHUTE JUMP

SOVIET AIRMAN'S CLAIM (Received October 12. 10.56 p.m.) MOSCOW, October 11. Evseyev, senior pilot in the Red Army's experimental branch, claims to have made a world record delayed parachute jump. He jumped at a height of 23,400 feet and fell for 132', seconds, in which he descended 22,912 feet, before opening his parachute. He says the temperature when he jumped was 60 degrees below zero.
