CI I A RTEIt L Y i\l EETIN Ci The quarterly meeting ol the Sydenham Methodist Circuit, held at Sydenham, was presided over by the Rev. Ray Richards. There was a good attendance of officials. A summary of the quarter's working was given by Mr Richards. Mr S. H. Maddren presented the balancesheet, which showed a deficit of £lB 9s 3d. The Sydenham Sunday School anniversary services were fixed for October 15, all collections to go to the Sunday school funds. It was decided to have retiring collections for the orphanage on Sunday, December 17. Miss Gwen Stephens, secretary of the Sydenham Sunday School, presented a report on the year's working. Phe toll number showed an '*ncrcase in all departments. The Bib! •' classes were making good progress. Mr E. King (Beckenham) reported that attendances at the Sunday school had been very good, and there had been 20 new scholars. The examination results were very good. i Was to send a letter of thanks and appreciation to Miss E Penney, for her valuable work for the Christian Endeavour.

A vote of thanks was passed to the ladies guild members and mothers for financial assistance. It was decided to make an allow™Cte °!t-> £1 10s a q uar ter to Miss N. Mete (Deaconess student) for tram fares, etc. Ihe meeting agreed that a recommendation be made to synod for the ™if nal Jv ran Zl £25 for Beckcnham. Messi W. Dobbs and W Kent (P Wright and G. A. Withcll as subS lutes) were appointed to represent the cucuit at synod in November. An invitation was extended to the Kcv. Hay Richards to stay for another Mr W. Watson (Beckenham) --poke in appreciative terms of the services rendered by Mr Richards. Miss Rita Pearce and Mr W Wat son were appointed auditors for the ensuing year. Miss A. Wise, agent for the "Open Joor missionary paper, reported 60 subscribers. She also tendered her resignation as representative on the area council.
