ST. JOHN .AMBULANCE DIVISION At the competitions, held at Christchurch on Saturday by the St John Ambulance Brigade, the C team of the Lyttelton Railway Ambulance Division won the Katherine Peek Memorial Cup. The team consisted of Sergeant C. Ellis, J. McKenzie, S. Ellis, and I<\ Mintey, sen. Sixteen calls have already been made on the ambulance since it has been stationed at Lyttelton. yachting. With the approach of the opening of the sailing season, most owners and crews are making use of every available opportunity to overhaul and paint their boats. Each week-end sees an influx of craft from their winter quarters on the estuary. Large, as -was the number of sailing boats, yachts, and launches at Lyttelton last ( season, the number promises to be even greater this season, as several new arrivals are expected. The Harbour Board is hard put to find moorings for the numerous craft. At a recent meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor-Boat Club, it was arranged to hold the opening day picnic across the harbour on Labour. Day, to be followed by a flannel dance in the evening. Unemployment Committee. Yesterday morning a deputation representing the relief workers of Lyttelton waited upon the Lyttelton Unemployment Relief Committee to place before the committee certain alleged grievances regarding the nature of their employment. The proceedings were held in committee, and no statement was made to the press.
