METHODIST BAND OF HOPE
The linal gathering of the New Brighton Methodist Band of Hope Cor the 1933 season was held in the schoolroom. The children presented a play, "Toyland Troubles." before a large audience. Prizes won during the year were presented as follows:—First class: Joy Dean, Ethne Buckley, Marjorie Jones, Valmae Bonnington. Doris Clark, Olive Ludbrook. Doris -Ludbrook, Teddy Nunan, Noel Webley. Second class: Doris Cant, Betty Cant, Kathleen Carmault, Joan Clark. Marie Nelson, Thelma Parker. Third class Theda Brading, Nola Cant, Nancy Carmault, Norma Christensen. Raymond Ellis, Edna Gray, Keith Hulme, Bobby Ludbrook. Daphne Lye, Joyce Lye, Wesley Lawry, Catherine Littlewood, Mavis Nunro. Winnie Neumann, Tessa Smith. Special: Denzy Cant, Marjorie Carmault, Charlie Dorn E. Lye, Sidney Lye, Betty Munro, Thelma Moir. Ngaire Pickett, Keith Spedding. Archie Turner. Joyce Bielby, Joyce Beardslcy, Victor Lye, Ray Lye, Runa Bonnington, Tui Dean, Jackie Hatt, Lyla Moore, Naida Nicholas. Most progress: Thelma Parker; learning pieces quickly, Joan Clark, Marjorie Jones; attendances at practices, Doris Clark, Joy Dean; medals, girls, Marjorie Jones and Valmae Bonnington equal; boys, Noel Webley. The Kev. S. Bailey expressed the thanks of the parents and children and presented Mrs J. \V. Hull with a leather bag. Mrs B. H. Dean with a picture, and Miss Dulcie Hull with a cushion. S
