Wellington—Wellington basked yesterday in perfect spring sunshine, tempered by a light breeze. Dunedin—A fresh north-east wind ind fine weather prevailed yesterday, with more cloud than sunshine. The tarometer fell 15 points, and registered iUDin last evening. Auckland.—There was a continualion of fine sunny weather yesterday, tbe wind being light and variable. The tarometer rose to 30.30 in at midday. FORECAST i (From readings taken at 4 p.m. yesterday.) General Situation—A moderate inti-cyclone covers New Zealand, while a westerly depression is movin» across the Tasman Sea, but apparently losing its intensity. Winds—Variable at first north of New Plymouth and Napier, but
norther.lies soon prevailing generally, and gradually freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters) Smooth to moderate, later rising about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate but ireshenmg northerly winds, with moderate but rising seas. Weather—Fine generally at first, but showers soon developing in Westland and the extreme south.
