"ROUND THE GORGES" RACE HANDICAPS FOR SATURDAY The handicaps have been declared for the 100-uiile New Zealand amateur "Kound tho Gorges" road-race, which will' ho held im Saturday. The event is being conducted for the i sixth time by the Papanui Amateur Cycling Club, and will be run under tho rules of tho League "of tho New Zculand Amateur Wheelmen. .. Tho race will start from tho Papanui Hotel at 9.45 a.m. The route will be along tho Main North road through Belfast, Kuiapoi, Woodend, to Waikuku, turning to the left into Gressons road, then to the right at the Five" cross-roads, and follow on to Rangiora, turn to the right up Ashley street, over Ashley bridge: take tho first turning to left, crossing Makcrikeri Creek bridge, then bear to the right through Loburn past the school, and continue on tho winding road to Glentui, through Ashley Gorge, East Oxford, West Oxford, past the hotel, taking the first turning .to the left; continue on to Waimakariri Gorge, through Waddington, Racecourse Hill, Darfield, Kirwee, Aylesbury, Sandy Knolls, meeting tho Main South road at - Jtolleston, turning to the left, and continue Btraight on through Templeton, Islington, Hornby, to Sockburn, turning to the right nt the signal box, and continue on to Show Grounds, Addington, finishing once round tho oval. Milk will bo supplied to competitors at Loburn School, West Oxford, and Kirwee.
Certificates will be issued to all competitors who complete the course, the time limit to be on the basis of time aiid one-eighth of the fastest time registered. The handicaps are as follows: Scr—F.
