HEADQUARTERS FOR SPORTSMEN
COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE SUGGESTION ■ A sub-committee has been set up to investigate the proposal that a central club should be formed to act as headquarters for all amateur sportsmen in the city. / A meeting of the representatives of all amateur clubs and associations in Christchurch was held at the Pioneer Sports Club's rooms on Monday evening. Mr C. H. Taylor, jun., the president of the Pioneer Sports Club, presided, and the proposal was fully discussed. The following sub-committee was set up to investigate the matter, and to report back to a general meeting later:—Messrs A. E. McPhail l (president, Canterbury Rugby Union), F. D. Muirson (president. Canterbury Bowling Centre), D. E. Wanklyn (New Zealand Cricket Council), C. S. Thomas (Canterbury Amateur Athletic Association), R. Hobbs (Canterbury Rowing Association). R. Browning (Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association), R. H. Livingstone. (Christchurch Amateur Boxing and Sports Club), and C. H. Taylor, jun. (Pioneer Sports Club).
