RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION

THE DEBATING CLUB There was a departure on Tuesday from the routine of the Returned Soldiers' Association's Debating Club, when a Parliamentary evening was held, and a bill was introduced and put through all its stages in strict accordance with parliamentary procedure. Mr Colin Milne occupied Mr Speaker's chair; the Prime Minister was Mr N. V. Wood: the leader of the Opposition was Mr H. Denton; and the Sergeant-at-Arms was Mr J. Laurenson. Visitors from the Workers' Educational Association and from St. Mary's Debating Club contributed to the evening's debate. The evening was considered a great success.
