PERSONAL (SIXCIAI, TO THE PS.EPS.) REEFTON, October 5. Misses C. Chapman and V. Colli! have left for Wellington on holiday. Mrs Latham, who has been Visiting Nelson, has returned to Reefton. Mr W. T. Keesing, of Westport, i* visiting Reefton. Alexander Mine Track. The following letter has been received by Mr H. E. Holland, M.P., from the Minister for Employment:—"l re* ceived your letter informing me that you had received advice from the Inangahua County Council mat the people of Reefton are now prepared to find an additional subsidy of £SO to complete the unfinished portion of the track from the Alexander mines to Reefton, via Stevenson's Flat. I thank you for this information, and shall be pleased. to arrange for the question of completing this road to be reconsidered." Rugby League. The weekly meeting of the management committee of the Reefton League Club was held last evening Mr Chandler presiding. It was decided to write to Mr Anderson; of the Pirates Club, Greymouth, thanking him for the hospitality extended to the United team. It was resolved that the return match with Greymouth Marist be deferred till next season. Cricket. The annual meeting of the Inangahua Cricket Sub-Centre was held at Ikamatua last evening. The report ana balance-sheet were received ana adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr K. J. Holyoake, M.P.; president, Mr J. Green; vicepresidents, Messrs McNamara aI }B \ Reiha; secretary and treasurer, Mr i- \ Vaughan; auditors, Messrs Blom and * ; . Fitzgerald; selectors, Messrs Blony Vaughan, and Fitzgerald The hours of play were fixed from 1.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., and finals u a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Opening day was fixed for November 4. Nominations close on October 20. _ The Reefton Club was granted permission to play in Greymouth.
