Auckland—There was another day of fine, sunny weather, although conditions were somewhat cloudy in the early morning. There was a slight westerly breeze, and although the barometer dropped slightly during the afternoon, it remained well above normal. Wellington--The weather yesterday was fine,- with passing clouds, and a stiff northerly breeze. Dunedin —The weather was warm and dull in Dunedin yesterday, with light showers at intervals. The maximum temperature was 57 degrees. The barometer was steady all day at 30.25 in. FORECAST (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation—Barometers are still high over most of the Dominion, but a slight depression has been passing in the south, and a rather intense one is now moving off south-eastern Australia on to the Tasman Sea.

Winds —Moderate to strong northerly to north-westerly, of gale force

at places in and south of Cook Strait, backing to southerly in the south after from 16 to 24 hours. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Rather rough to rough south of Cape Egmont and off-shore south of Castlepoint; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Strong northerly winds, backing later to southerlies in central and southern portions; seas rough. Weather—Unsettled in western districts from Taraiiaki southwards and the far south, with scattered rain.
