MAN FOUND DEAD AT COBDEN
(PKESS ASSOCIATION TELEGEAM.) GREYMOUTH, October 5. William Edward Uton, a middleaged, single farmer, of North Beach, Cobden, was found dead in his hut this morning. He was seated in a chair in the kitchen with a shotgun in his left hand, the trigger being attached by a string to his left foot. He had not been seen yesterday, and a friend called at the hut this morning. He noticed Ilton seated in the chair and informed the police. The bullet had entered the left eye, death apparently having occurred from 12 to 20 hours earlier. Ilton had been engaged in pig-rais-ing in me district for some years. He was a returned soldier.
