Auckland—The prolonged spell of fine, sunny weather and light northerly wind continued yesterday. The barometer was steady all day at 30.50 in. Wellington—The spell of fine weather in Wellington was continued yesterday. The morning was overcast, but bright sunshine was experienced in the afternoon. The wind was a light north-westerly. Dunedin.—Light, warm showers were experienced in Dunedin yesterday and the sky was overcast all lay. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees. The barometer fell from 30.39 in to 30.20 in. There was practically no wind. FORECAST (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation—An intense anticyclone still covers the greater part of the Dominion, while a moderate depression is advancing 'over the South Tasman Sea.
Winds —Moderate to strong, northerly to north-westerly, reaching gale force at places south of Cape Egmont and Castlepoint. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rather rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Moderate to strong northerly winds; rather rough seas. Weather—Still fair in most parts, but scattered rain likely in western districts south of Kawhia, also in the far south.
