Auckland—A light northerly wind aid fine sunny weather yesterday made conditions like summer. The barometer was practically steady at 30.50 in all day. Wellington—Wellington enjoyed another day of delightful spring sunshine yesterday. The wind was a northwesterly. Dunedin—A moderate north-east breeze and fine but cloudy weather prevailed in Dunedin yesterday. There were occasional periods of sunshine. The barometer foil from 30.60 in to 30.40 in. FORECAST (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation—An intense anticyclone is moving eastward off the North Island. Pressure is low over the whole area from South Australia to the western Tasman Sea, and un-
settled conditions extend gradually to New Zealand Winds—Moderate to strong and increasing northerly winds. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rising in Cook Strait and south of Cape Egmont. Eastern Tasman Sea—Strong northerly winds; rough seas. Weather —Fine at first in most parts; but gradually becoming unsettled in western districts and the far north and south, with some rain. Temperatures mild.
