RACES AT ASHBURTON SATURDAY, 16TH SEPTEMBER Special Excursion tickets will be issued to Ashburton from Christchurch-Timaru and intermediate stations on direct line of route by trains arriving Ashburton up to 12.30 p.m. on 16th September, available for return until 18th September. Special Excursion tickets to Ashburton lis lid first class, 8s 7d second class (including Is 6d course admission) will be issued from Christchurch by the 10.29 a.m. special train on 16th September, available for return until 13th September. These tickets will not be available by the 8.35 a.m. express from Christchurch, nor by the 6.5 p.m. express from Ashburton on 16th September. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS: CHRISTCHURCH - ASHBURTON: Special passenger train, taking passengers from Christchurch, Addinglon, Sockburn, Templeton, Rolleston, Dunsandel, and Rakaia only leaves Christchurch 10.25 a.m., arriving Racecourse Siding 12.5 p.m. Return train, taking passengers for Rakaia, Dunsandel, Rolleston, Templeton, Sockburn, Addington. and Christchurch only leaves Ashburton 4.50 p.m., Racecourse Siding 5.15 p.m., arriving Christchurch 7.3 p.m. Passengers from stations at which the special train will not stop may travel by usual 7.10 a.m. ChristchurchAshburton train (which will stop at Racecourse Siding to set down) and return by the usual 3.50 p.m. Ashbur-ton-Christchurch train (Racecourse Siding 3.56 p.m.), or by special horse train leaving Ashburton Racecourse Siding at 5.25 p.m. Special fast horse train, stopping only at Addington, Sockburn, Templeton, Rolleston, and Dunsandel, to lift racehorses in "Ug" wagons, leaves Christchurch at 9.15 a.m., and arrives Ashburton Racecourse Siding 11.15 a.m. Horses from Rakaia must be loaded for the usual"morning train for Ashburton leaving Rakaia 8.56 a.m. Special return horse train, stopping where required to set down passengers and horses returning from races leaves Ashburton Racecourse Siding 5.25 p.m. Should the races be postponed the special trains will NOT run.
