THIEVES ESCAPE.

(PHES3 ASSOCIATION TKLEORAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 29. Finding the door of a clothing shop open, a nightwatchman at Inglewood entered and found two young men sorting arid packing goods on the counter. Without demur the men agreed to go with the nightwatchman to the police station, but when they reached the footpath they bolted and escaped in a car. Subsequently it was found that a shop across the street had been entered and clothing and fancy goods valued at £2O were missing. The front door of this shop had resisted the efforts to open it and entry was gained to both premises by the back doors.
