COMPETITIONS.
RICCARTON METHODIST CIRCUIT. The competitions arranged by the members of the Biccarton Methodist Circuit were continued last night when five further classes were judged. The judges particularly praised the singing of the girls in the classes 11 years and under 17 years, and the playing in the piano solos 14 yean and under. The competitions will be continued to-night and Saturday night, and a demonstration concert will be given next Wednesday evening. The following were the sections judged last night:— Song, own selection, girls 11 years and under 17—Joyce Hayes, 82 points. 1; Doris Vogel, 81 points, 2; Bona Beswick, 80 points, 3. Quartet, own selection—Misses M. Duder, E. Leathwick, E. Ryan, and G. Ryan, 85 points, 1; Clarence Road Young Men's Bible Class, 80 pdnts, 2. Piano Solo (open), reading at sunt —Mr Allan Clark, 82 points, 1; Mta Kathleen Moore, 78 points, 2; Miss Dulcie Clements, 78 pants, 3. Impromptu speech, opes—Mr R. Leathwick, 80 points, 1; Mr L» Clements, 78 points, 2; Miss Q. Dudes 15 points, 3. Piano Solo, boy or girl, 14 yearn end under, own selection—Bona Begwick, 82 points, 1; Dorithea South, U points. 2; Florence Wright, 78 points, 3.
