NO MORE WAR MOVEMENT.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the New Zealand No More War movement was held on Wednesday evening, Mr N. M. Bell being in the chair. The secretary reported that letters had been sent to the headmasters of secondary schools in Christchurch on the subject of military training in schools. The Ensom Peace Trust wrote agreeing to provide funds for a peace prize to seconadry school pupils and the form the competition should take was discussed. It was suggested that speeches by the competitors on some subject connected with the League of Nations might afford a change from the more hackneyed type of school essay, and a committee was set up to consider the matter. It was decided to urge those branches not already participating to inaugurate a peace essay competition in their respective centres. It was resolved that the movement's librarian should become a member of the League of Nations Union, and that the literature of the union should be placed on the library shelves. The executive decided to hold the usual produce sale in December, and a large committee was set up to deal with the matter.
