ENGLISH ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The Christchurch branch of the English Association held its annual general meeting at Canterbury College last evening, when Mr J. H. E. Schroder presided over a good attendance of members. The meeting had been called to consider the future of the association, and it was unanimously decided, after considerable discussion, to continue for this session. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Professor J. Maemillan Brown; president, Mr L. F. de Berry; vice-presidents, Professors Arnold Wall and F. Sinclaire; honorary secre-tary-treasurer, Mr H. H. Fountain; executive committee, Miss E. M. Hawker, Messrs I. Donnelly, W. W. Brassington, A. G. A. Baigent, and H. W. Rhodes. The presidential address will be delivered at the next meeting of the association by Mr L. F. de Berry.
