SHIPPING NOTES
The Holmglen, which left Wellington on Saturday for Lyttelton, put back later lor shelter. She sailed from Wellington again at 7.10 a.m. yesterday, and is due here this morning. The Holmglen is to sail this afternoon for southern ports. The Taupata is to arrive here today from Tarakohe, via Wellington. After discharging cement, she will load for Nelson, Mapua, and Motueka. The Holmdale is to arrive here today from Timaru to load for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Fife, which, arrived in the stream on Sunday night, berthed yesterday morning to discharge sulphur. She is to sail to-day for Wanganui. The auxiliary scow Ngahau is to leave Lyttelton at 1 p.m. to-day for Kaiapoi, where she will load for Wellington. The Wingatui is expected at Lyttelton this morning from Timaru to load for Auckland. She sails via Wellington. The Waipiata is now to arrive here to-morrow from Auckland and Wellington. She is to sail in the afternoon for Dunedin and Bluff. The Totara is expected here to-mor-row from Westport via Wellington. She will discharge a small quantity of coal, and is to sail -for Timaru. The Calm, due on Thursday from Wanganui and Wellington, is to load here for Bluff. Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. The Foxton should be here to-mor-row from Foxton to load for the return trip. The Opihi is timed to load here tomorrow for Nelson and New Plymouth. The Titoki is expected at Lyttelton on August 3 from Timaru, and will load here for Napier, Gisborne and Tauranga to the agency of the Union Steam Ship Company. The Brisbane Maru is to leave Geelong on July 29, and is now expected to arrive at Wellington on August 4. She will probably sail the same day for Auckland.

THE RANGITATA
The New Zealand Shipping Company's motor-liner Rangitata is to sail from London on Thursday next for Auckland and Wellington. She is due at Auckland on August 30.
CAMBRIDGE FOR FINAL LOADING.
The Federal Line steamer Cambridge is due at Lyttelton about Saturday next from Napier for final loading. She is timed to sail on Monday for London and West Coast ports of the United Kingdom, via Panama and Curacao.
THE ZEALANDIC.
The Zealandic, en route from Liverpool, via Cape Town, ha 3 reported that she expects to arrive at Auckland next Friday morning.

KARAMEA TO LOAD
The Shaw, Savill, and Albion motor-ship Karamea is due at Lyttelton about Friday next from Bluff for further loading. She is/ to proceed from this port tc Wellington and Auckland, and is to sail finally from Auckland on August 8 for London, via Cape Horn.
THE KENT.
The Kent left Lyttelton yesterday for Dunedin to complete discharge. She is to load at Port Chalmers, Oamaru, Bluff, Timaru, Lyttelton (August 10), Wanganui, and Wellington. She is to sail finally from Wellington on August 18 for Southampton and London.
THE SURREY.
The Surrey is now expected to leave Timaru to-day for Lyttelton. She is due at Wellington on Thursday, and sails at daybreak next Saturday for London, via Cape Horn.
MAORI DOCKED AT LYTTELTON.
The ferry steamer Maori was docked at Lyttelton yesterday for cleaning and painting. She sailed in the ferry run as usual last night.
THE GOLDEN HARVEST.
The American steamer Golden Harvest, which grounded on Barrett's Reef, Wellington, on the night of May 30, and was refloated 24 hours later, is to leave Wellington to-day for Melbourne in continuation of her voyage. The steamer was in dock at Wellington for some weeks while temporary repairs were made.
MAIMOA SAILS
Heavily laden with New Zealand meat, produce, wool, potatoes, and sundries, the Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer, Maimoa, left the wharf at Lyttelton shortly before 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon and anchored in the stream to await the completion of her documents. Before leaving, the usual search for stowaways was made by the police. While the vessel was at Lyttelton she loaded 1000 tons of potatoes for Montevideo, and took in 600 tons of bunker coal. She was drawing 30 feet 9 inches aft. and 26 feet forward when she sailed. The Maimoa left the stream at 5.15 p.m. for Montevideo, Teneriffe, and London.
BUST DAY FOR TUG.
The Harbour Board's tug Lyttelton had a busy day yesterday, and she handled seven vessels, besides shifting hulks. In the morning the Lyttelton assisted In docking the Maori, and later brought the steamer Fife in from the stream. In the afternoon she took out the overseas steamers Maimoa and Kent. Her next job, between 5 and 6 p.m., was to assist in undocking the Maori. Afterwards the tug took out first the motor-ship Lund by and later the motor-ship Port Dunedin.
SOUTH SEA SAILS
The steam trawler South Sea completed bunkering yesterday afternoon and sailed last night for the Chatham Islands. She will make her first call at Waitangi to land maila, and will then proceed to the fishing ground at Port Hutt. The South Sea is expected to arrive back at Lyttelton via Wellington in three to four weeks.
SUMMER CRUISES.
New Zealanders have shown, like people in many other parts of the world, lively appreciation of cruises in the summer months. The shipping companies' arrangements of trips to famous scenic resorts last year resulted in between 1300 and 1400 persons making these enjoyable trips, and plans have already been laid for next season's excursions. The Union Company announces the following cruises in New Zealand waters: — From Auckland to Bay of Islands, etc.: Monowai leaves Auckland on Tuesday, December 26, and returns to Auckland on Friday, December 29, or Saturday, December 30; Marama leaves Auckland on Monday, January 15, and returns to Auckland on Friday, January 19. From Wellington to Queen Charlotte and Pelorus Sounds: Marama leaves Wellington on Monday, January 29, and returns to Wellington on Friday, February 2; Marama leaves Wellington on Monday, March 26, and returns to Wellington on Friday, March 30, or Saturday, March 31. From Wellington to West Coast Sounds (Milford, etc.): Monowai leaves Wellington on Monday, March 5, and returns to Wellington on Friday, March 9. The Monowai will leave Sydney on January 2 and Melbourne on January 4 for Wellington, via Milford Sound.
