The salary increments ©1 ichool teachers was the subject of a letter from the Education Department received at a meeting of the Auckland Education Board. The letter stated, in regard to a suggestion that salary increments should be paid from the first day of the month following the date on which they completed 12 months in their positions, that the department, after consideration of the matter, had decided not to amend the regulation* at present. The regulations provided that, ia cases of teachers appointed on or before August 1, increments shall be payable from the first day of February following.
