CHRISTCHURCH CLUB.
Driving mist from the south-west made conditions unpleasant at Shirley on Saturday for the first round of the Denniston Cup. L. Treleaven continued to play well down to his handicap to beat R. S. Beadel; and A. B. Jones recovered well from being 3 down to P. R. Godby at the twelfth to take the next five holes and the match 2 and 1. The detailed results were:— A. B. Jones beat P. R. Godby 2 and 1. M. K. Gray beat F. G. Bristed 6 and 5.
A. R. Blank beat B. G. Rutherford 2 up. 1,. Treleaven beat R. S. Beadel 3 and 2.
The semi-final matches arc to be played on Saturday.
RICHMOND HII.L CLUB
The second round of the Rawnsley Cup, a mixed foursome stroke event, was played at Richmond Hill on Saturday afternoon. There was a cold southerly wind blowing, which tended to make playint, conditions rather difficult. The results were as follows:

AVONDALE CLUB.
The mixed foursomes stroke handicap, played on the Avondale links over the week-end, was won by O. Andersen and Miss I. A. Maindonald, with a particularly good card of 76 net. Following were the best cards returned:— Gross. Hep. Net. O. Andersen and Miss

HAREWOOD CLUB
Although a keen south-west wind made conditions far from easy, scores were fairly good at Harewooa for the stroke handicap, played over the weekend. The course was in good order. The senior competition was won by B. J. McFadden, who played exactly to his handicap of 12. A. S. Geddes (16) also recorded a net 75 to win the junior medal. The best cards were:—
