SHIPPING NOTES.

The Port Whangarei is due here today from Wellington, and is to sail for Dunedin and Timaru.

The Kapiti is to load at Lyttelton to-aay for Wanganui. The Wainui is due here to-day from Wellington to load. She is to sail this afternoon for Bluff, Hobart, and Melbourne. ,The Gale is to load here to-morrow for Wellington and Wanganyi. The John is timed to load at Lyttelton to-morrow for Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Alexander is to load at Lyttelton to-morrow, and. sail for Nelson, Westport. and Greymouth. The Port Waikato is due at Lyttelton on Sunday from Dunedin to discharge Australian cargo and to load for Picton, Auckland, Tauranga, and Whangaroa. The Foxton is timed to load here on Monday for Foxton direct. The Storm is due here on Tuesday from Timaru, and will load for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Waihemo is to arrive at Lyttelton on Sunday from Wellington to discharge cargo from Los Angeles. She is to sail on Monday night for Dunedin and Australia. The Kini, due to-morrow from the south, will load for Nelson, New Plymouth, Westport, and Greymouth. The Lundby, which arrived at Auckland on Monday night with a cargo of newsprint from Liverpool, Nova Scotia, left Auckland on Wednesday night for Wellington, where she is due to-morrow morning to discharge 1300 tons of cargo. KAREPO AGROUND AND REFLOATED. During her recent loading operations Australia, the Union Company's steaKjp Karepo grounded in shallow water in Newcastle Harbour on July 4. the assistance of a tug she was got off just more than an hour later anno damage was sustained. Considerable silting up has taken place at times in Newcastle harbour, and it is not an infrequent occurrence for vessels to go aground and be refloated without injury. The Karepo is at present discharging at Wellington.

KENT'S MOVEMENTS. The Federal steamer Kent left Auckland on Tuesday morning for Napier to continue discharge of her Liverpool cargo. She is now due at Wellington to-morrow or Sunday, and at Lyttelton on Thursday. TEES FOR OVERHAUL. The steamer Tees is to pay off at Lyttelton to-day, and will lay up for annual overhaul. RUAHINE AT LONDON.

The Ruahine, which left Auckland on May 31 for London, via Panama, arrived at London on Tuesday morning. THE PORT WELLINGTON. The Port Wellington completed loading at Wellington and sailed yesterday afternoon for London. She took as passengers Captain and Mrs C. S. J. Duff and Mrs Sherman. Dr. Sherman is ship's surgeon. THE TURAKINA. To continue her Homeward loading to the agency of the Federal Company, the Turakina is now due at Wellington to-day from Wanganui.
