HARMONIC SOCIETY.
SUBSCRIPTION CONCERTS* The Christchurch Harmonic Society is giving its second subscription coocerts at the Radiant Hall on Thursday and Saturday this week. Patrons are asked to note that as the whole of the society's subscribers and ticketholde?a cannot be accommodated on Saturday evening, the committee cannot hold itself responsible to hold seats for any except those who reserve seats. It is also hoped that as many as possible will attend Thursday evening's concert. The society is producing the old favourite opera, "Maritana." To the younger generation it may not be known that "Maritana" contains such well-known airs as "Scenes that are Brightest," "Let Me Like a Soldie? Fall." and "Alas, Those Chimes." The chorus work is without exception bright and tuneful, and the, principal solos are in the excellent hands of Mrs Ralph Sicrakowski, Mrs F. Nekon Kerr, Messrs James Shaw, F. R. Hawker, and J. L. Tennent Mr Victor C Peters, under whose experienced baton the choir may be relied upon to give a finished performance, will be assisted by a full prchestra, with Miss Blanche Atkinson at the piano. The box plan is now open at Chas. Begg and Company's booking offlca.
