, * CARNEGIE FELLOWSHIP AWARD. (PJtSSS ASSOCIATION TEL3GBAM.) WELLINGTON, June 27. At a meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Free Kindergarten Union, Miss Rene Wilkie, of Dunedin, was selected for the Carnegie kindergarten fellowship. The sum of £SOO has been provided by the Carnegie Corporation, New York, for one year's advanced training for a New Zealand candidate in kindergarten work in the United States. Miss Wilkie will leave in August to take up the fellowship. Nominations from Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch were also before the selection committee, which had the assistance of Professor T. A. Hunter, Mr N. T. Lambourne (Director of Education), and Mr H. A. Parkinson (Wellington), in making the final decision.
