WELLINGTON PROPOSAL CRITICISED. 1 (PRESS association telegram.) WELLINGTON, June 9. Cr. Duncan has given notice to move at the meeting of i the City Council: "That to enable 3 it to review the question of the I future site for the Central Fire > Station as well as for other reasons, 1 the council decide to take no : further action in regard to the proj posals previously made for the 3 establishment of a civic centre on \ the block occupied by the existing , fire station and other buildings." , Cr. Duncan said he did not be- • lieve that the people of Wellington 1 ever realised what a civic centre ! would cost, that they ever wanted >. the scheme, or that they wanted it t now. 2 =============
