At the official opening of the extension to' the Mataura freezing works on Friday, reference was made to the money received from the Government as a building subsidy, says the "Southland Daily News." This amounted to £IOOO, and it was stated that the company had decided to refund the value of this sum in meat and manures to the unemployed in Southland.
