In the British women's golf championship final at Gleneagles Miss Enid Wilson defeated Miss Diana Plumpton five up and four to play. Miss Wilson thus achieved her ambition to complete the "hat-trick," having won the title three years in succession, a performance unequalled since Lady Margaret Scott's record - In 1893-5. , • ™ i. The 22-year-old Miss Plumpton, an Essex County player, reached the final for the first time. She beat Miss Wanda Morgan and Miss Diana Fishwick. The Russley Ladies' Golf Club concluded its two-day open tournament yesterday. The tournament was a great success. There were good entries, the links were in excellent order, and the weather bautifully fine. ! Mrs E. Chartres won the Russley Trophy with a score 'of 80—83—163, and also first medal handicap played on Thursday. Mrs R. Macdonald and Mrs A.
