When intermittent misfiring occurs and a careful examination shows that neither the plugs nor the distributor are the cause, the trouble is almost sure to be located in the high-tension leads, which, perhaps, are perished. The exact location of the leak can geni erally be traced by running the engine at night in the garage, with all lights out. In fairly intense darkness sparks can readily be seen.
