FALSE PRETENCES.
(PKBSS APSOCIATIOK TEI.EJj.UM ) WELLINGTON, April 19. A sentence of six months' imprisonment was imposed on Frederick Charles Danby, aged 35, a cook, 'who pleaded guilty to a charge of obtaining £6 lis by false pretences from a furniture company by means of a valueless cheque.
