SHIPPING NOTES. « The Kiwitea arrived here last evening from Dunedin to discharge Australian cargo and to load for Auckland. She is to sail to-day for Auckland direct. The Port Waikato is due here tomorrow from the south, and will load for Auckland, Tauranga and Whangarei.

The Tees arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Wellington. She it to sail to-day for Dunedin and Timaru, and is due back about Tuesday to load for Wellington, Napier, arid Gisborne (inner harbour). The Canadian Leader is due here to-morrow from Timaru for final loading. Shfe is to sail on Saturday, for New York, Boston, and Montreal The Wingatui left Lyttelton last evening for Dunedin and Timaru. She is due back on Tuesday and will load on Wednesday for Auckland. The Opihi is to load at Lyttelton on Wednesday next. for Nelson and New Plymouth, She sails via 'Weir lington. The Waipiata is flue here on Tuesday from Auckland, Portland, and Wellington. ' She is., to sail on Wednesday forDunedih and .Bluff. The Alexander is timed to load here on. Saturday for Nelson, Mapuaj and Motueka. The Poolta is to take in cargo at Lyttelton on Thursday next for Napier and Gisborne. She sails via Wellington. • . . Advice has been received that the Shaw, Savill, and Albion chartered steamer Canonesa, which left Auckland on March 1 for London, via Cape Horn and Montevideo, arrived at London last Saturday.

NEW SHAW, SAVILL LINERS. e The "Post's" London correspondent writes under date of March 14 stating that the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company are calling for tenders for the construction of two new cargo - vessels. These are to be larger and faster than any other «cargo vessels in the New Zealand trade, and they should be ready for ssh/ice inside twelve months. In this connexion a cable message was received in New Zealand a few days ago stating that the ships will be of 12,000 tons, and j will be built by Harland and .Wolff, Limited.

She is to.sail on Saturday for Wellington and is to leave that port finally on April 29 for Southampton and London, via Panama, THE ORARI. The New Zealand Shipping Company's motor-ship Orari is due at Wellington this- morning from Auckland to discharge cargo from Glasgow and Liverpool to the agency of the Federal Company.
