PIGEON FLYING.
CHRISTCHURCH SOCIETY. The Cliristchurcb Racing Pigeon Society recently conducted races from Studholmo Junction and Kaikonra. The birds were liberated at Studholme in a south-west wind, which helped them to record fast limes, 'i'he winning bird, J. McLean's Swift and Sure, flew the 111 miles 746 yards in two hours 49 minutes. Results: Yards per min. J. McLean's Swii't and Suro .. 1160 X. Darling's Full Feather .. 1158 B. Stewart's Ncra Nuff .. .. 1130 A. Thomson's Black Bess .. 1129 T. Taylor's Honest Injun .. 1123 Parker Brothers' Red Racer .. 1104 D. McNeish's The Battler .. 3075 The young bird produce race was flown from Kaikoura. Rain, with bad visibility, was encounted on the journey with a result that only one bird homed on tho day of liberation. The winning bird, N. McNeish's Ladycourt, flew the 105 miles 1219 yards in 7 hours 5 minutes. CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The Christchurch Premier Pigeon Club conducted races from Parnassus and Oamaru on Saturday. Favourable conditions enabled the birds from Parnassus to record fast velocities, but a strong head wind prevented fast timos from Oamaru. Tho winning bird of tho Parnassus race, owned by W. Gray, flow the 66 miles 113'2 yards air-line in 1 hour 26 minutes 48 soconds. Tho winning bird of tho Oamaru race, also owned by W.
