The possibility of government action following the many complaints of the menace of toy pistols which can readily be converted to fire live cartridges was hinted at recently by Sir John Gilmour, Home Secretary, in a written reply to a question in the House of Commons. He said he was considering the possibility of new legislation to provide special penalties for the possession or use of a firearm or a colourable imitation.
