The barometer was steady at 29.95. Wellington— The weather was gloriously fine yesterday. A light north breeze in the morning changed to the south in the afternoon. Dunedin—A squally south-west wind p.nd cloudy weather prevailed yesterday. The barometer rose to 30.10. FORECAST. (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) , General Situation—The depression of the week-end has now passed eastwards and a moderate anti-cyclone is. moving on to New Zealand. A tropical cyclone is apparently centred near New Caledonia.

Winds—Moderate to strong .southwest to southerly, backing to southeast over the North Island. Seas (New Zealand waters)-Rather rough on the east coast, with a southerly swell; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern -Tasman Sea —Light to moderate south to south-east winds and smooth to moderate seas. Weather— For the most part, /'me, with cold night but mild day temperatures; a few isolated showers are likely in the far north and north-eajt and about Fovcaux Strait.
