CHEVIOT COUNTY.
REVISED VALUATIONS. CONSIDERABLE REDUCTIONS. The revision of valuations in the Cheviot county has been completed by the Government Valuation Department. The previous assessments were made in 1919, and compared with these the new valuations show decreases ranging from 32 per cdnt down to 7 per cent, in the capital valuations, and from 37 per cent, down to 16 per cent, in the unimproved valuations. Property owners who object to the new valuations are given until May 1 to lodge objections. The following is a comparison of the rateable capital and unimproved valuations in 1919 and the revised figures:— Hawkswood Riding. Capital.
